Obituary of James Edward Randall

James Edward Randall, 74 of Cromwell died Saturday, November 10, 2001 in St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth. He was born August 8, 1927 in Duluth to Harry and Anastacia (Petrick) Randall. He grew up in Kelsey and graduated from Cotton High School in 1945. He was an Army veteran, serving during World War II. Jim married Lorraine Lundin on April 9, 1955 in Cromwell. He was a heavy equipment operator, working all over the world on the construction of pipelines. In 1961, Jim and Lorraine made their home in Cromwell. He continued to travel with his work until retiring in 1992. He was a member of Local Unions 302 and 49. He enjoyed fishing at their lake cabin on Prairie Lake, playing cards, gardening and yard work. For many years, Jim and Lorraine have wintered in Lake Havasu, Arizona and he leaves many friends there. Jim is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lorraine of Cromwell; his son, Philip (Kim) Randall of Cromwell; daughters, Karen (Jim) Dahl and Terry (Dick) Smith both of Wright, Audrey Randall of Portage, Michigan, Nancy (Joe Amato) Jordan of Cromwell, Carol (Neil) Nykanen of Brampton, Michigan and Sandra (Willie) Kelly of St. Louis Park; a brother, Richard (Eileen) Randall of Cotton; 19 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Visitation was from 5 until 7 PM Tuesday, November 13, 2001 in Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St. in Cloquet and continued from Noon until the 1:00 PM service Wednesday, November 14, 2001 in Bethany Lutheran Church in Cromwell. Burial was in Eagle Lake Cemetery in Eagle Township. Military Honors was accorded by the Cloquet Combined Guard. Arrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet.
