Obituary of Kermit E. Kadin

Kermit E. Kadin, 68, of Floodwood, died Tuesday, December 4, 2001 in St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born February 24, 1933 in Elmer Township, MN to Enard and Lucinda (Turnboom) Kadin. He married Hazel Lowry on April 26, 1963 in South Dakota. Kermit worked in highway construction for Coons Construction Company from 1955 - 1965 and for Johnson Brothers Construction from 1965 - 1975. After 1975, he was self-employed as a logger and grain hauling trucker. He was a member of the Floodwood VFW and Hope Lutheran Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Enard and Lucy Kadin; a brother, Elvin Kadin and a daughter, Sherry Kay Kadin. Kermit is survived by his wife, Hazel and granddaughters, Courtney and Stacee Freeman of Floodwood; a daughter, Teresa (Jess) Lambert and children, Tawni and Kirsti of Cloquet; a son, Scott (Angie) Condra and children, Lilly, Billy, & Sarah of Midland, TX; grandchildren, Annette Condra and Scottie Condra, Jr, both of Honolulu, HI; four brothers, Jerry (Maryann) Felknor of Proctor, Dale (Mary) Felknor and Clark (Karen) Felknor, both of Floodwood and Jay Kadin of Duluth; four sisters, Irma (Jack) Robison of Duluth, Mary Lou (Robert) Powers of Roswell, NM, Gayle (John) Suonvieri of Floodwood and Clarice (Jerry) Zauhar of Superior; mother-in-law, Bessie Murphy of Cromwell; brother-in-law, Larry (Karen) Murphy and family of Carlton and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service were held on Saturday, December 8, 2001 in Hope Lutheran Church, Floodwood. Interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Van Buren Township. Military honors were accorded by the Cloquet Combined Honor Guard.
