Obituary of James Eric Pierre

James E. Pierre, 71 of Esko died Wednesday, November 28, 2001 in St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth. He was born October 31, 1930 in Muskegon, Michigan to Swedish immigrant parents. He grew up in Minneapolis, lived in Bloomington for 22 years and since 1978 he had lived in Esko. Jim worked for International Harvester for many years and later as a bus driver for the Proctor School System. Jim was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of Northwoods United Methodist Church in Esko. James was preceded in death by his parents, Eric and Esther Pierre. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Anna; children, Anita (Mark) Kelly, Roland (Christina), Robert (Tammy), Laura (David) Dahl, Roger (Karen) and Joanie (Noel) Pierre; and 16 grandchildren. A special thank you to Dr. David Arvold and Jim's caregivers, Ed and Carla. Visitation was from 2 until the 3:00 PM service Saturday, December 1, 2001 in Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St. in Cloquet. Burial was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
