Obituary of Saima Elizabeth Lumppio

Saima Elizabeth Lumppio, 91, of Evergreen Knoll, Cloquet died Friday, December 7, 2001 in her home. She was born September 2, 1910 in Thomson Township to Charles and Nanny (Hankola) Anttila. She graduated from Esko High School in 1929 and on October 2, 1930, she married Arne Lumppio. Saima worked at Diamond Match as a Quality Control Inspector for 28 years. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the WMF and the Esko Senior Citizens. Saima was preceded in death by her husband, Arne in 1987; sisters, Lila Manley and Mae Dwyer; step-sister, Helena Simula; brothers, Hans and George Anttila; her parents and her step-mother, Hilja Anttila. She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Harden of Cloquet; her granddaughter, Elisa (Herb) Gibson of McFarland, Wisconsin; two great grandchildren, Ana and Adam Gibson. Visitation was from 1 until the 2 PM service Monday, December 10, 2001 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cloquet. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Arrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St. in Cloquet.
