Henry was a great friend and pastor. My wife Cindy and I have fond memories from years ago, when we lived on the Iron Range and attended Good Shepherd Lutheran where he served. Learned a great deal from his teaching and preaching. He is now in the presence of the Savior he loved and served for many years.
May the Lord bless his memory, knowing that one day we will see those loved ones who have gone before us.
Praying that God will comfort the hearts of the family during this time of grief. God bless!

When I was little, I adored my big brother, Elgin. Whenever he came home, our house was warmer and brighter than before. He loved to laugh, and most heartily at his own Finnish jokes he so loved to tell. And he was a talented storyteller, recounting the amusing observations he made of everyday life.
Our age difference and later the geographical distance between us made itself felt. Even as adults, we didn't share our deepest concerns with one another. Perhaps another reason for that is a typical Scandinavian hesitation to bare one's soul to another person. Be that as it may, Elgin was certainly there for me if I had needed his help. And those occasions did occur.
EMy brother will be remembered as a person always willing to help others, and, more importantly, able to help. My sister-in-law and my nephews and their families will be the first to attest to that.
My brother was greatly loved and respected by his family, his friends and the members of the respective congregations that he served. With Elgin you knew he truly meant what he said and that he stood for honesty and decency in all things.
Now you have left us with our memories.
