Obituary of William Ira Dale

William Ira Dale, 77 of Cloquet passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 in Chris Jensen Health and Rehabilitation Center in Duluth. He was born September 27, 1943 in Harmon, Virginia to Ira and Louise Dale. He worked at the Patty Cake Shop for 30 years and Johnson Bakery for 10 years before retiring in 2010. Cakes and cookies were his specialty. Bill married Cathleen Johnson on January 18, 1975 in Duluth. He was a member of Journey Christian Church in Cloquet. He enjoyed tending to his flowers, gardening, fishing, and listening to music. Bill was dedicated to serving the Lord and his church. He had a servant's heart. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ann Dale; a brother, Carl Dale; and a nephew, Raymond Siems. He is survived and will be sadly missed by his wife of 45 years, Cathleen; five children, Timothy (Lori) Dale of Knoxville, TN, Sandra (Cory) Martinson of Cloquet, Christine (Joseph) Chapman of Floodwood, Andrew (Jan) Dale of Las Vegas, NV, and William Dale of Cloquet; sisters, Marion Siems and Margaret Dale both of Duluth; brother, Orville Dale of Duluth; nephew, Mike Siems; and 12 grandchildren, Alyssa, David, Casey, Bethany, Will, Savannah, Nate, Summer, Alex, Christian, Clara, and Eli. An in-person family only service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 28, 2020 in the Atkins Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St., Cloquet.
