Dear Joan,
I just found out that Brian passed away. I am so sorry to hear that. I know the last few years have been difficult and I am glad he is at peace. From my experience caring for my mother (Alzheimer's), it was hard to let go, but it did get better as time passed. They will always be in our hearts and no one can take that away from us.
My love and prayers to you and your family.

I had the good fortune to work with Brian for 15 years at the Ojibwe School. As his family's beautiful tribute said, "He could be quiet and reserved...". That changed as soon as we got to know him and after that, it was nothing but good work and good times. So many times, Sherry Wick and I would laugh at his one-liners and stories until tears were running and our stomachs hurt from laughing. That's the way work should be. He was always available to fix a facility problem and his outlook made you put those small problems into perspective and enjoy life. He was such a family man and you knew he treasured his family; he had his grandchildren's photos posted prominently on the bulletin board. He always talked about his weekends with them. Peace and prayers to Joan, Kate, Joel and grandchildren, during this difficult time. We know Brian is at peace. I will. miss, and always remember him.
