Obituary of Wesley Duane Hunter

Wesley Duane Hunter, 87, of Cloquet, died January 2, 2021 in his home. He was born August 31, 1933 in Fleming Township, Aitkin County, MN, the son of Robert and Pearl Hunter and grew up in Culver. Wesley was a Korean War veteran serving in the Army from February 1953 until December 1955. He was honorably discharged as a PFC and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal. Before entering the military, Wesley worked for a short time for the railroad. He worked in the retail furniture business and was the owner/operator of Wesley's furniture. He also had a side business from home fixing and repairing televisions, radios and record players. Wesley loved his coffee, enjoyed country music, fishing and hunting, boating and gardening, camping, bowling, playing cribbage, watching western movies and wood working. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Vern, Alvin, Orlin, Rusty, Ivan, Dale and Tex Hunter and sisters, Mary Hunter, Dorothy Dahl, Mildred Lehman, Una Posey, Dolly Pedersen, Donna First and Lily DeLuca. Wesley is survived by his wife, Beverly, of Cloquet whom he married on April 18, 1980 in Hermantown; children, Keith Hunter of Moose Lake, Brenda (Charles) Farris on Rantoul, IL, Wayne (Catherine) Hunter of Roberts, IL, Dawn (Gary) Frump of Hoopston, IL, Steven (Laura) Hunter of Rantoul, IL, Sheryl (Brad) Johnson of Nampa, ID, Gerald (Dawn) Shoberg of Carlton, Joyce Shoberg of Webster, WI and Jillian Johnson of Hermantown; sisters, Dusty Anderoni of California, Darlene Welsh of Superior and Lila Clemons of Saginaw; 24 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
