Obituary of Arthur Giles Buell

Arthur Giles Buell, 94 of Mahtowa passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 from natural causes, loved and surrounded by his family. He was born October 16, 1926 in Plainville, Hartford, Connecticut, the youngest of four children born to Giles and Caroline Buell. Art enlisted in the Army after high school and then two years later enlisted in the Air Force. He married Delores June Christina Stubbs from Grand Island, NE on July 18, 1946, and together they raised four children. Throughout his 21 year career in the Air Force, Art was stationed in Alaska, South Dakota, Iceland, Wyoming, Spain, and finally settled in Minneapolis, Minnesota, after being honorably discharged. After a long career, he retired from North American Life Insurance Company. He lived the rest of his life near his oldest son in Moose Lake, designing and painting miniature wood sculptures and tending his game preserve. Arthur was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Renee Vasquez. He is survived by his four children, Cheryl Bailar of Rescue, CA, Steve (Kathi) Buell of Moose Lake, Craig Buell of Richfield, and Liza Vasquez of Cameron Park, CA; eight grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.
