Obituary of Richard Billmeier

Richard "Dick" Billmeier, 84 of Wright, formerly of Richfield, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, February 11, 2021. He was born June 4, 1936 in Clements, Minn. to Louis and Minnie Billmeier. He grew up in Clements and graduated from St. Mary's High School in Bird Island in 1954. On October 12, 1957 he married LuAnn Oslund. After their marriage they made their home in Richfield and together raised four children. Dick made his living working in the construction industry, spending his entire career of 45 years working for Rauenhorst Construction which later became Opus Corporation. He had a great love for his family, always putting them first. Family time was spent in the outdoors, camping, fishing, and hunting. This love for the outdoors led to his retirement with LuAnn on their lake property 23 years ago. He had a great grin, showing the type of guy he was. He is with God now, watching over us. Dick was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, LuAnn; sons, Rick (Deb) and Kurt; daughter, Sheree (Pat) Sicheneder; sisters, Arlene Larson and Janice Hildebrand; brothers, Mike and Steve; grandchildren, Scott, Suzi (Frank), Jules and R.J.; and many extended family members and friends. Dick's family wishes to express thanks to St. Croix Hospice for their exceptional care and professionalism. Due to Covid, private family services will be held. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Letters and cards of condolence may be sent to the family c/o Atkins Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St., Cloquet, MN 55720.
