Obituary of Kenneth George Olson

Kenneth George Olson, 78 of Carlton passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 in Golden Horizons Assisted Living in Crosslake with his loving family by his side. He was born April 24, 1943 in Carlton to Verner and Gerda (Anderson) Olson. Ken graduated from Carlton High School in 1961. He married Judy Calverley on June 27, 1964 in Mahtowa. Ken was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Carlton and was active in the church choir. He was the regional manager for KC Companies Assisted Living. Ken enjoyed carpentry work and built their home near Chub Lake in Carlton. He also enjoyed doing yard work. His greatest joy in life came from spending time with his family. Ken was preceded in death by two brothers, Don and Bud Olson; and one sister, Vi Goad. He is survived and will be sadly missed by his wife, Judy; three daughters, Teresa (Steven) Olson-Colich of Carlton, Andrea (Gian Battistia) Olson-Molteni of Velletri, Italy, and Trish (Chuck) Lane of Merrifield, MN; brother, Roy (Barb) Olson of Blackhoof; sister, Irene Chapin of Blackhoof; sisters-in-law, Faye Olson of Cloquet and Lois Olson of Carlton; 13 grandchildren, Katie (Bryan), Kristi, Luke, Lance, Matteo, Marco, Luca, Ale, Vanessa, Blake, Olivia, Erika, and Jacob; and one great grandson due in June. Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2021 in the Atkins Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet. Visitation will continue from 10:00 until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service Friday, May 7th in Bethesda Lutheran Church in Carlton. Masks are required. A time of lunch and fellowship will follow in the church social hall. Burial will be in Mount Salem Cemetery in Mahtowa.
