Obituary of Carol Jean Schubert

Carol Jean (Johnson) Schubert, 82, of Cloquet passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021 after a brief illness, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on December 18, 1938 in Superior, WI and preceded in death by her parents, John I and Lillian (Wicken) Johnson and husband, Harry L Schubert. Carol graduated from Superior Central High School in 1957 and soon after was united in marriage to Harry L Schubert on August 10, 1957. They were married almost 50 years until his death in June 2007. Carol was a stay-at-home mom for years before entering the workforce. She was employed for 20 years as an office manager at State Farm Insurance Bruce Jahn Agency where she enjoyed the daily customer interactions. She also was a Welcome Wagon hostess during the 1970's. Carol always had a love of music that continued throughout her life. She sang in musical groups in her youth, played piano and self taught guitar. Most recently she sang with the choral ensemble, Autumn Voices, that would perform at local nursing homes, assisted care facilities and community events. She also enjoyed her volunteer years leading residents in singing at Inter - Faith Care Center and was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. She loved her many trips to Branson, MO with her husband and then with dear friends after Harry's passing. Her greatest love and pride was her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Carol had an unwavering faith and accepted her recent cancer diagnosis with grace and a sense of humor that was admirable. She will be greatly missed.
