Obituary of Margaret Lucile Perkkio

Margaret Lucile Perkkio, 86 of Floodwood passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021 in Edgewood Vista in Hermantown. She was born September 15, 1934 in Eau Claire, Wisc. to T. Melvin and Gudrun Abramson. She graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1953 and went on to college for one year training to be a medical transcriptionist. She worked at Shriner's Memorial Hospital. On November 7, 1964 she married Harold Perkkio. They lived in many different areas throughout the country until finally settling in Floodwood in 1982. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Harold and sister, Betty Anderson. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa (Richard) Polo of Floodwood; step-daughter, Brenda (Doug) Rowenhorst of Scottsdale, AZ; brother, Gene (Marlene) Abramson of Oregon, WI; granddaughter, Neva Anne Polo; step-granddaughter, Elizabeth; and step-great granddaughter, Sophia. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, August 8, 2021 in Forest Hill Cemetery, Van Buren Township, Floodwood. Arrangements entrusted to Atkins Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet.
