Obituary of Jo Anne McMillan

Jo Anne McMillan, 65 of Meadowlands passed away in her home on Friday, August 27, 2021. She was born in Duluth on December 16, 1955 to Clyde and Helen Morse. She grew up in Meadowlands and graduated from Toivola-Meadowlands High School. Jo married James McMillan on July 9, 1994. Jo retired after 40 years of service with St. Louis County social service as a child support officer. Jo was a great homemaker. She loved canning, baking, and sewing. She loved being on the board of the local fair. Jo was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law, James and Elma McMillan; and brother-in-law, Fredric Griswold. She is survived by her husband, James; daughter, Tanya (Nick Smith) Fox; grandson, Carter Fox; brothers, Clyde (June) Morse and Phillip (Kaylyn) Morse; sisters, Barbara Griswold and Kathryn (Randall) Anderson; the greatest aunt to all of her nieces and nephews; and her rescue cats Chloe and Shadow. A public visitation will be held at the Meadowlands Community Center, 7758 Western Ave., Meadowlands on Sunday, September 5, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Memorials preferred to the American Lung Association.
