Obituary of Donald Andrew Kinnunen

Donald Andrew Kinnunen, 91 of Esko passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 in St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth. He was born on February 9, 1930 in Thomson Township the only child of Andrew and Hilda Kinnunen. He grew up in Esko.

Donald was a Finnish horse farmer, with strong friends and a legacy of stewardship. He was generous with his help, knowledge, and opinions. Anybody that knocked on his door got a good cup of coffee and conversation. He was well-read and curious. He often donated his time and harvest to the hungry. Donald will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Donald is survived by cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00 to 3:00 pm on Saturday, November 13, 2021, in the fireside room in Atkins Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street in Cloquet. There will be coffee and food.
