I'm so sorry to hear of Jan's death. I worked with Jan in Hospice. She was always kind, sweet and humble...I can still envision her twinkley smile. I'm sure her passing will be sad for all who knew Jan but especially for her family. I'm so very sorry for your loss.

I want to extend my deepest sympathy to Brad and Bernie and your families. I first met Jan at UMD as we were both working in our masters in social work degrees . Her work ethic , her sense of humor and her determination was an inspiration to me and many others . I don’t recall her ever complaining , she put forth 125 percent and somehow made it look easy ! I was blessed to work with her many times in various hospice situations ( not in the last two years) and I was always moved by her kindness and so enjoyed talking with her (usually about her family) and admiring the beautiful and unique style she had. I am very sad that I will not hear her laugh or see her smile again (not in this life anyway). I hope you realize how much people loved and admired your Mom , she truly was one in a million. Bernie, Brad and your families, I am not so sure I even have enough words to express the sadness I am feeling today. Jan was a wonderful friend and when we talked we laughed, we cried, we sang, and we even shared the dreams of the future. Meeting her through Tim was such an asset in my life and I know she was looking forward to coming back to Autumn Voices in a big way even buying a Ukulele to join the group to accompany the choir. She loved you all with all her heart and soul. I hope you can keep her memories alive for eternity. I truly will miss you Jan. Rita

I had the pleasure to work with Jan. And I am so sorry to hear that she has passed. She had a distinctive laugh that echoed throughout the office. Even though I didn't know what she was laughing about, it always made me smile. I loved her quirky and fun dress style and mostly the warm smile she always wore. She was a special person. I had the privilege of working with Jan in hospice for the last few years. Jan had thee biggest heart and worked so hard to help and care for our patient's. She was also very funny and made me smile and laugh a lot... her laugh was infectious. I am so sorry she has passed and so sorry she wasn't able to enjoy her retirement longer. She will be missed greatly but never forgotten
