Obituary of Yvonne Patricia Lofald

Yvonne Patricia Lofald “Bonnie”, 92, of Hermantown passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2022 in her home.  She was born January 12, 1930 in Duluth to Harold and Nina Churchill.  She was raised in the Homecroft area of Duluth and graduated from Central High School in 1947. Yvonne married Robert Lofald on September 30, 1949.

Yvonne worked as an elevator operator in the Fidelity building until 1950, she then worked at Oreck’s Department Store in the Fur Factory and as a sales person in the Budget Balcony of Oreck’s.

She was a majorette in high school and a Den Mother for Cub Scouts.  Yvonne  enjoyed sewing, baking, reading and hunting.  She spent her 25^th anniversary in Canada successfully moose hunting.  She made baby quilts by applique and enjoyed baking cookies and bread for family.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Robert; two brothers, Harold Jr. “Stuart” Churchill, and David L. Churchill; sister, Geneva Anderson; and grandson, Joseph Lofald.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Bobbie (Mick) Kochendorfer, Michael (Rainy), Stuart (Kathy), Dennis (Debbie), Carol Walch; grandchildren, John (Nichole), Chelsea (Brian Jackson), Caleb Lofald, Katie (Eric) Borndal, Jenn (Greg) Krajacic, Sarah (Rich) Lofald-Hilton, Kari (Adam) Preble and Chris Walch; great grandchildren, Asa and Rowan Lofald, Mark Jackson, William Lofald, Mya, Kale and Dane Borndal, Amelia and Bennett Krajacic; and many nieces nephews and friends.

Visitation: 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 in Peace In Christ Lutheran Church, 5007 Maple Grove Road, Hermantown.  A luncheon will follow in the church social hall.  Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery in Hermantown.  Arrangements entrusted to Atkins Northland Funeral Home, 801 14^th Street, Cloquet.  To sign the guest book and leave an online tribute, see www.atkinsnorthlandfuneralhome.com
