Obituary of Arlene JoAnne Granmo

Arlene JoAnne Granmo, 90 of Duluth passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022 in Barnes Care in Esko.  She was born on August 18, 1931 to John and Saime Sandberg in Duluth, MN.  She graduated from Denfeld High School in 1949.  She married Dale Wayne Granmo on July 11, 1953 in Duluth.

Arlene was a secretary for Dwayne Wolf Insurance, then East West Realty, and finally the Longshoremen Association until her retirement.  She enjoyed bowling, baking and sewing.  She was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts.  Arlene in her later years enjoyed being a foster grandparent.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; daughter-in-law, Kim; and sister, Margaret Rico.

Arlene will be deeply missed by her sons, Greg of Duluth, Steve of Duluth, Mike (Debbie) of Esko, and Jerry (Sheri) of Duluth Township; grandchildren, Brett, Allison, Sean (Meagan), Amy (Kyle), Christy (Mike), Dan, Brandon (Katie),  Matson; great grandchildren, Hudson, Ella, Easton, Chloe, Connor and Liam; brother, Larry (Arnelle) Monson; and nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation: 1:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. memorial service on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 in Atkins Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet.
