Obituary of Dee Ann Berg Whitney Manty

Dee Ann Berg Whitney Manty, 82, of Cloquet, formerly Texas, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022 in her home.  She was born on May 7, 1940 to John and Mireille Berg in Cloquet.   She graduated from high school in 1958.  Dee married Edward Whitney in 1962.  After his death in 1994, she married Norman Manty in 1995. 

She worked for the Wood Conversion and Diamond Match in Cloquet, and then for Stearns in Carlton for 22 years until she retired in 1995.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Bracketville and former member of JM Paine Presbyterian Church in Carlton.

Dee enjoyed crafts and liked to read.  She enjoyed traveling, especially back to Minnesota to visit family.  She loved to spend time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchild.

Dee was preceded in death by her husbands, Edward Whitney and Norman Manty.

She will be deeply missed by her children, John (Jeanne) Whitney, Janet (Eric) Fagre, Judy Christopherson, Nauni Manty, Norman (Olivia) Manty Jr., and Renee (Phil) Burris; sister, Gaynell Lewis; 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

Visitation: 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. memorial service Friday, July1, 2022 in Atkins Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet.  A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow the service.  Detour: Due to road construction on 14th Street, please use our temporary entrance off of 12th street.  Access 12th street from Doddridge Avenue.  To sign the guest book and leave an online tribute, see www.atkinsnorthlandfuneralhome.com.
