Obituary of Betty Lou Krueger Batters
Betty Lou Krueger Batters, 99, of Cloquet, MN passed away on Tuesday, July
26, 2022 at Evergreen Knoll, Cloquet, MN. She was born in Cloquet, on June 25,
1923 the daughter of Walter Johnson and Winifred Castor Pease Johnson.
She enjoyed reading, playing cards and bingo. Her hands were seldom idle as she
also enjoyed cooking, sewing and crocheting. She was very creative. Betty Lou
was a homemaker and enjoyed her time being with her family and friends, being
part of a Sewing Club, Birthday Club, and was also a member of the Catholic
Church in Cloquet.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Samuel Krueger in 1971 and
Malcolm Batters in 2009; her parents; 7 brothers and 2 sisters.
Betty Lou is survived by her daughters, Dorothy (Tom) Ferguson of Duluth and Tamie
Woodward of Cloquet; her son, James (Sandy) Krueger of Woodbury; her
grandchildren, Laura (Dean) Lembke, Carrie Ferguson, Randi (Mark) Nyholm,
Samantha (Paul) LeMay, Joanna (Nathan) Helder, Spencer Krueger, and Quinn
Krueger; her great grandchildren, Joel Lembke, Alexandra and Cole Nyholm, Max
and Zak LeMay, and Xaria and Torin Helder. Other survivors include Allan
Woodward of Cloquet, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Evergreen Knoll and St. Croix Hospice for their
wonderful care of Betty Lou.
A private graveside service, for immediate family only, will be held at 11:00 a.m.
on Sunday, September 11, 2022 in New Calvary Cemetery in Cloquet. A reception
and lunch will follow at Noon for family and friends at Atkins Northland Funeral
Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred
