Obituary of Shirley Marie Cameron
Shirley Marie Cameron, 75, of Floodwood passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 in Essentia Health, St. Mary’s in Duluth. She was born on June 25, 1947 in Red Lake Falls, Minnesota to Armond and Mae (Demaris) Theroux. Shirley graduated from Lafayette High School, Red Lake Falls in 1965. Shirley married Dennis Cameron in 1968 in Red Lake Falls.
Shirley worked for many years as a renowned cook at Buds Place in Floodwood, Starvin Marvins, Willow River Correctional Facility, Bridgeman’s in Floodwood, and retiring from the Floodwood School District in June of 2010.
Shirley loved spending time with her family; especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, going to the casino, and looked forward to her supper dates with her lady friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dennis; grandson Caden Goutermont; in-laws, Archie, and Evie Cameron; eleven siblings; and her canine son, Buddy.
Shirley will be missed by her daughters, Tracy Cameron of Gilbert, MN, Rhonda (Larry) Heggedahl of Floodwood, MN, Roxanne (Kelly) Karppinen of Cotton, MN, Heidi Cameron of Floodwood, MN; Brothers, Armond (Shelly) Theroux Jr., and Tim Theroux; sister in laws, Deb Keil, and Cindy Laine; grandchildren, Eric, Tyler (Lindsey), Zach (Molli), Jarred (Sarah), Tanner (Milla), Jaxon, Bryce (Sage), Trey (Tatianna), Cameron (Brooke), Lexi (Austin); great grandchildren, Aria, Ezme, Karter, Rowan, Myles, Hunter, Rhett, Hayes, Elliot, and baby girl due in October; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
