Obituary of John Everett Stillwell

John Everett Stillwell, 78, of Orr, MN (formerly Cloquet, MN) went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ peacefully, on May 9, 2023, at his home with his loving wife by his side. John was born on January 1, 1945 in Carlton, MN.

John was a member of the 148^th Fighter Wing, where he retired with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant in 2001, after 30+ years of “playing with airplanes” as he called it. John enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, including his many fishing trips to Alaska, winters away from Minnesota and a very special trip to Hawaii this year, and playing on his iPad. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who were fortunate to know him.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine of 51 years; children, Chad (Kim) Clough, John (Melissa), Shane (Susanne) and Stephen (Jo); grandchildren, Spencer, Zachary (Rachel), Jessica, Paige, Hayden, Rylie, Paul (Emme), Luke, Isaiah, Kyrieleisa, Melanie and Michael; sister, Aloha (Vernon) Smith; nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends, too many to name.

He is preceded in death by his parents; John and Dorothy Stillwell; in-laws, Leslie and Delores Wills.

Visitation: Noon until the 1:00 pm Memorial Service on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Atkins Northland Funeral Home, 801 14^th Street, Cloquet. Light refreshments and snacks will follow.
