Obituary of Donald William Hietala

Donald William Hietala, 79, Sun City, AZ, formerly of Floodwood, MN and Denver, CO died unexpectedly Thursday, August 1, 2002 in Duluth. He was born April 8, 1923 in Floodwood, the son of Arvid and Jennie (Wuotila) Hietala. Don was a veteran of World War II. He had been employed as an auditor for Standard Oil Company of Indiana for a number of years and as a tax auditor for the State of Colorado for 10 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice, on April 7, 1999. Don is survived by his step-daughter, Claudia (William) Krieg of Phoenix, AZ; a sister, Hazel Lund of Costa Mesa, CA; and a special friend, Maxine Shaver of Sun City West, AZ. Funeral services were held Thursday, August 8, 2002 in Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet. Interment was in Lakeside Cemetery, Lakeview Township, MN.
