Obituary of William Oscar Pajuoja

William "Bill" Oscar Pajuoja, 85 of Cloquet died Friday, December 28, 2001 in Community Memorial Hospital. He was born January 18, 1916 in Deer Creek to Matthew and Serafiina (Hotakainen) Pajuoja. He married Lillian Voigt on November 16, 1944 in Grand Rapids. Bill was a Navy Veteran serving during WWII. He was a carpenter, working in construction all of his life. Bill enjoyed music and writing songs. He also loved to travel and ride his motorcycle. He was a member of Travel Craft Club and North Country Riders. Bill also enjoyed conversations with his CB radio friends. Bill was preceded in death by a brother, Arvo; sisters, Elsie Pohjola, Milja Kesty and Mary Ellen Sander. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lillian; sons, Jay (Penny) of Sawyer, Cy (Sara) Willow of Carlton and Gary (Kay) of Yakama, Washington; a daughter, Faith (Rodger) Olson of Carlton; a sister, Mamie (Bill) Laitinen of Cloquet; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Services were at 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 31, 2001 in Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St. in Cloquet. Military Honors were accorded by the Cloquet Combined Honor Guard. Fellowship and lunch followed in the funeral home reception room. Burial was at 3:00 P.M. in the Itasca Calvary Cemetery in Grand Rapids. Arrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet.
