Obituary of Edward Urho Kultala

Edward Urho Kultala, 81 of Cloquet died Wednesday, November 13, 2002 in his home. He was born December 26, 1920 in Brevator Township to August and Tyyne (Luoma) Kultala. Edward was an Army veteran serving during WWII. He worked on the boats on Lake Superior and farmed with his brother Walter for several years before going to work for the State Highway Dept. He retired in 1985. Edward was a member of the Cloquet VFW Post 3979 and the Cloquet Moose Lodge. He enjoyed dancing, fishing and being at his cabin on Prairie Lake. Edward was preceded in death by his brother, Walter; sisters, Kay Koski, Vienna Konu and Emily Anttila. He is survived by two sisters, Ruth Kelho of Woodland Hills, Calif. and Lillian Hill of San Jose, Calif.; his special friend Adeline Peterson of Moose Lake and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2002 in Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St. in Cloquet. Military Honors were accorded by the Cloquet Combined Honor Guard. A time of fellowship and lunch followed in the Fireside Room of the funeral home. Burial was in Apostolic Lutheran Cemetery in Esko. Arrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet.
