Obituary of Barbara Ann Walli

Barbara A. (Peterson) Walli, 56 of Cromwell died peacefully Friday, March 8, 2002 at her residence with her husband by her side. She was born April 2, 1945 in Los Angeles, California to Harold and Siiri (Mononen) Peterson. Barb lived most of her life in the Cromwell area. On October 27, 1962, Barb married Rodney Walli in Bethany Lutheran Church, Cromwell. She was a Certified Reflexologist and worked at her office at Cloquet Natural Foods and at home. Barb enjoyed singing in the church choir and was active in the Sisters Circle of Bethany Lutheran Church. She was the Ladies Aid contact member for the Box Project family in Sledge, Mississippi for over 10 years. Barb was noted for her green thumb and kept many plants and flowers in her home. She was preceded in death by her father, and an infant son. Barb is survived by her husband of 39 years, Rodney (Rod); sons, Gene (Audrey) Walli of Illinois and Mark (Shelly) Walli of Michigan; 2 grandchildren, Megan and Micheal; mother, Siiri Peterson of Cromwell; and a brother, Mike (Lynn Tillman) Peterson of Floodwood. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 16, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. in Bethany Lutheran Church in Cromwell with Pastor Matt Saarem officiating. Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery in Lakeview Township. The church was filled with Barb's plants which the public was welcome to take home in her memory, so in lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Barb's name. Arrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home in Cloquet.
