Obituary of Russell Norman Anderson

Russell "Rusty" Norman Anderson, 41, on April 18, 2004, received the "checkered flag" to life on earth to enter into the Lord's kingdom after a courageous battle with adrenal gland cancer. He was born in Duluth on August 28, 1962 to Norman "Russ" and Janice Anderson. Rusty graduated from East High School in 1980. He started working while he was in 10th grade at Arrowhead Equipment Co. He worked there until 1997 at which time he went to work at StoraEnso. Russ married Suzanne Norha on July 8, 1997. His love for racing street stock cars earned him 2nd in points at Proctor and Superior speedways. Russ was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Norman and Mable Anderson, and his maternal grandfather, Einar Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne; children Samantha, Katie, and little Rusty; his parents, Russ & Janice Anderson of Duluth; sister, Nanette(Shawn)Higgins and their children Brooke, Ashley, and Shawn Jr. of Duluth; In-laws, Pat & Patsy Norha of Cloquet; Maternal grandmother, Florence Anderson of Duluth; uncles, Larry (Mary) Anderson and Greg Anderson both of California, and Tim(Vera)Anderson of Colorado; aunt, Normie(Frank)Gerard of Pike Lake; and many cousins. Russ and his family would like to express our deepest thanks and gratitude for the exceptional care received from Dr. Jonathan Sande and the SMDC staff, also to all of our co-workers, friends and family for their immense support and prayers. A memorial service was held on Thursday, April 22, 2004 in Zion Lutheran Church in Cloquet. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Arrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home in Cloquet.
