Obituary of Elaine Amelia Elizabeth Olson

Elaine Amelia Elizabeth Olson, 85, Sawyer, died Monday, October 20, 2003 in her home. She was born July 16, 1918 in Duluth, the daughter of Mouris and Ellen (Nelson) Olson. She grew up in Sawyer and lived on the family farm all of her life. Elaine was a 1945 graduate of the University of Minnesota with a Home Economics degree. She taught school in Carlton and Sandstone for several years. She then went to work in Carlton for Stearns Manufacturing until she retired. Elaine was a member of the Sawyer Chapel. She enjoyed working on her family geneology, gardening and getting together with her cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and numerous cousins. Elaine is survived by many cousins and friends, including Irene and Kelly Carlson, Betty Linder, Gordon Glader, Bob and Gloria Clark and Delores Jokela. A funeral service was held on Monday, October 27, 2003 in Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet. Interment was in Sawyer Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Sawyer Chapel or the American Cancer Society.
