I attended Scanlon School. Mrs Bylkas was such an excellent teacher, very kind, and remembered me many years later. She is in heaven rejoicing and receiving her reward :level_slider:️

I just opened up my Cloquet Pine Journal after being out of town for a week and was saddened to see the obituary of Mrs. Bylkas. For each of us, there are one or two teachers in our lives that stand out above the rest. She was that kind of teacher to me. Mrs. Bylkas was my 2nd grade teacher at Scanlon School back in 1966/67, and many times I've thought about her over the years, always with a smile on my face. Each of my classmates and I remember her fondly. My heart goes out her family.

Both of my parents held Ernie and Martha in the highest regard. It was a great friendship that was forged over the years and it was their gracious presence that brought both my parents closer to the Lord.
May you rest in peace..

Aunt Martha will be sadly missed by all who had the priviledge to be related to her, know her, love her. She will always be remembered for her easy & infectious laugh and her loving heart. Our sympathies to all of those left behind (for awhile) until we meet again.

I have many fond memories of visiting with Martha and Ernie as I grew up next to them in Esko. Our hearts go out to the family.

She was my special teacher in the Bootjack School. She always told everyone at Christmas when she called on me to say my piece in the Christmas program, I said everyone else's in our family, too. She was a dear person, such an infectious smile and smiling eyes. A true friend of the Aittama family. We dearly loved her mama, too. Thanks to the Gazette website, I found this out. God loves her and so do I.
