Obituary of Euclid Joseph Berthiaume

Euclid Joseph Berthiaume, 74, of Cloquet, MN died Friday, March 5, 2004 at his daughter's home in Barnum, MN surrounded by his loving family after a quiet, personal battle with cancer. He was born in Cloquet on April 4, 1929 to Monroe and Lillian Berthiaume and lived most of his life in Cloquet. Euclid served in the US Army for four years, stationed in Panama; and worked for the Army National Guard in Duluth for 28 years, and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for six years. He enjoyed animals, especially dogs, and his hobbies included woodworking, cooking and playing cribbage. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Jean; brothers, John and Bill; a sister, Gladys Skagerberg and an infant daughter, Brenda. Euclid is survived by a son, Michael (Barb) of Cloquet; daughters, Dianna (Dave) Schmidt of Barnum and Barbara Tobolaski of Laughlin, NV; a brother, Richard; two sisters, Katheryn Dahl and Beulah Johnson, all of Cloquet; grandchildren, Michele, LeeAnne, Dennis, Chris, Melanie, Gerald, Brenda, Heather and James; great grandchildren, Austin, Ashley, Adelaide, Brenda, Kayla and Bailey and 19 nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held on Tuesday, March 9, 2004 in Cloquet Gospel Tabernacle. If preferred, memorials may be made to Minnesota Public Radio, American Cancer Society or Friends of Animals.
