Obituary of Marian Larae Pajunen

Marian L. Pajunen, 59 of Chisholm, formerly of Cloquet and Duluth, died Thursday, February 26, 2004 in St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth. She was born March 9, 1944 in Staples, Minnesota to Donald and Bernice (Dezell) Scribner. She grew up and attended school in Chisholm. On June 23, 1960, Marian married David Pajunen in Chisholm. In 1969 they moved to Duluth and later moved to Cloquet. They returned to Duluth in 1979 and Marian went to work for Kemps Fishery until retiring in 1997. They returned to Cloquet for a short time and in 2001 they moved to Dewey Lake, outside of Chisholm. Marian enjoyed fishing and spending time on the lake. She also enjoyed doing yard work but her greatest joy came when she could spend time with her grandchildren. Marian also loved her dogs, Daisy and Ginger and her cat, Susy. Marian was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Frear and an infant son, William Albert Pajunen. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, David; son, David Jr. of Superior; daughters, Sandra (Mike) Smart and Sharon (Pete) Danielson both of Cloquet; sister, Carlotta McDonald of Superior; grandchildren, Jessica and Jake Smart, Chris and Steve Danielson, Amanda, Brandon, Trevor and Blake Pajunen. Funeral services were held on Monday, March 1, 2004 in Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St. in Cloquet. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery.
