Obituary of Doris Elisabeth Klosner

Doris Elisabeth (Gamradt) Klosner, 87 of Esko died Friday, March 05, 2004 in Cloquet Memorial Hospital after a strong fight with cancer. She was born November 17, 1917 in Sauk Centre to Emil and Minnie (Jacobs) Gamradt. Doris was a graduate of Sauk Centre High School and St. Cloud Normal School. She taught at a one room school, first through eighth grade, for five years. Doris married Lawrence Klosner February 1, 1941 in Spirit Lake, Iowa. She has been a long time resident of Esko and farmed there with her husband, Larry. Doris was a long time member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church of Esko. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Delbert, Gerhardt and Raymond Gamradt; sister, Arlene Gamradt; and son-in-law, Arnold J. Korby. Doris is survived by her husband, Lawrence; daughters, Diane George of Eau Claire, WI and Peggy (Roy) Laine of Bethel; eight grandchildren, Brian Laine of Tustin, CA, Jason Laine of Bloomington, Dr. Wendy Laine (Dylan Nau) of Kalamazoo, MI, Chad George of Evanston, WY, Dylan George (Jennifer Neves) of Arlington, VA, Orion George of Loleta, CA, Katrina (George) (Timothy) Mayer of Oceanside and great granddaughter-to-be, Olivia, CA and Benjamin George (fiancée, Rachel Krabacher) of Golden, CO; brother, Harry Gamradt of Sauk Centre. A memorial service was held on Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Esko with Rev Jeffrey Walther officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Doris' name to St. Matthew's Building Fund.
