Obituary of James Carl Emil Pantsar

James "Jimmie" Carl Emil Pantsar, 66 of Barnes, Wisc. formerly of Esko, died Thursday, August 30, 2001 in St. Mary's Hospice in Duluth. He was born June 7, 1935 in Cloquet of Emil and Vieno (Savo) Pantsar. He grew up in Esko and graduated from Esko High School in 1953. Jimmie worked at Northwest Paper Company for 7 years before moving to Barnes, Wisconsin where he worked for the Interlake Steamship Company as an engine oiler until retiring in 1996. He served in the Cloquet National Guard. Jimmie was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed archery competition, bow hunting, trapping and fishing. Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents and his step father, Arthur Walled. He is survived by his son, Jeff of Cloquet; brothers, Edwin (Alice) Pantsar and Daniel (Janet) Pantsar both of Esko; sisters, Verna (James) Flynn of Esko, Edith (Tim) Blazevic and Ethel (Jerry) Lewis both of Duluth; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Services were held at 11:00AM on Saturday, September 1, 2001 in Apostolic Lutheran Church in Esko. Burial was in Apostolic Lutheran Cemetery.
