Obituary of Angeline Eve Woodward

Angeline Eve Woodward, 90 of Cloquet died Tuesday, April 29, 2003 in the Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton. She was born July 27, 1912 in Ashland, Wisconsin to Ladislaus and Angeline (Fralka) Mrotek. She grew up in High Bridge and graduated from high school in 1930. She graduated from teacher's college in 1933. Angeline taught grade school in a one room school in Wisconsin. On July 3, 1939, Angeline married Vilas Woodward. Together they made their home in Cloquet where they owned and operated Woody's Bar. Angeline continued operating the bar after her husband's death in 1956. She retired in 1977. Angeline was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, the Foresters, and Women of the Moose. She was also in many Birthday Clubs. She enjoyed playing cards, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and she loved to cook. In addition to her husband, Angeline was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Christine Woodward; four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Denise (Dale) Mullen of Cloquet; sons, Daniel (Barbara) and Sidney (Susan) both of Phoenix and Claude (Jean) of Cloquet; her sister, Edna Mrotek of Inter-Faith Care Center; 5 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, May 2, 2003 in Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Burial was in Old Calvary Cemetery in Cloquet. Arrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet.
