Obituary of Dorothy McIntire Lang

Dorothy Elizabeth (McIntire) Lang, daughter of Henry Otis and Tressie McIntire; granddaughter of John and Minnie McIntire, with whom N.P. Junction (Carlton) was built; granddaughter of August and Elizabeth Peacha, as written about in the "Pillars of Society". Dorothy was born on the family farm at 2:30 p.m. on September 10, 1919. On Saturday, March 29, 2003, Dorothy entered the Kingdom of Heaven to join her parents; her first husband, Joseph Crotteau; her beloved son, John Crotteau; brothers, Otis, Howard, Wesley and Earl McIntire; sisters, Helen Gleason, Anna Mae Strom, and Shirley Hanson; grandson, Cecil Osman; granddaughter, Briar Rose Stolberg; and son-in-law and good friend, Chet Champeaux. She will be dearly missed by her surviving children; Paul (Vera) Crotteau, Mary Osman, Margo Colomb, James (Kathy) Crotteau, Marge (Tom) Lavan, Dee (Glenn) Martin, Alice (Kyle) Schadewald, Marcie (Mike) Stolberg, and Rosie (Paul) Murray. She is survived by one brother, James (Marge) McIntire; three sisters, Marge (Charles) Bolf, Margaret McIntire, and Mary Jane Hoover and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was blessed with 20 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. The greatest accolade, which can be said about Dorothy, is that she was a loving mother, grandmother and caring friend to so many people. No was not a word in her vocabulary. Whenever or wherever someone needed her, Dorothy would lend a helping hand. Heart disease could not deter this fine lady from doing all the things she loved; shopping (Wal-Mart was at the top of her list), garage sales (as many as she could get to), Casino (whenever she had enough nickels or not), crocheting, cribbage, scrabble and her beloved puzzles. She will be missed terribly and we will forever feel this sadness. However, it warms our hearts and minds knowing she is at peace and is happy - for she is with God. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, April 3, 2003 in Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Cloquet. Burial was in New Calvary Cemetery, Cloquet. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and may be sent in care of Northland Funeral Home, P.O. Box 247, Cloquet, MN 55720.
