Obituary of Scott M. Plaisted

Scott M. Plaisted, 49, of Kalamazoo, Mich., died Saturday, July 24, 2004 from a heart attack at his home in Kalamazoo. He was born Aug. 15, 1954 in Duluth the son of Russell and Dorothy (Mattson) Plaisted. He graduated from Esko High School in 1972. He attended Mesabi Community College graduating in 1974 and graduated with honors from UMD in 1976. Scott received a fellowship from the University of Idaho where he also received his masters degree in chemistry. He was employed as a research chemist for Pfizer, formerly known as Upjohn. Scott achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and was an avid outdoorsman. He served on numerous conservation boards and was a member of many wildlife and conservation organizations. Scott is survived by his parents, Russ and Dorothy of Duluth; a brother, Rick from Burbank, Calif., a sister, Julie Plaisted (Wilbur Bluhm) of Gilbert, Minn.; several uncles, aunts, cousins and many loyal friends and co-workers in Kalamazoo. A Memorial service was held on Monday, August, 9, 2004 in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Esko. Arrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet.
