Obituary of Beatrice Anderson

Beatrice "Bea" (Wain) Anderson, 61, Duluth, died Saturday, March 22, 2003 in St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth. She was born September 20, 1941 in Duluth, the daughter of Albert and Beatrice (Novak) Bernsdorf. She was a 1959 graduate of Toivola Meadowlands High School. Bea married Robert G. Anderson on July 14, 1984 in Duluth. She was currently employed at the Secondary Technical Center in Duluth and in the catering department at the DECC. Bea enjoyed cooking, entertaining and recently had finished writing a family cookbook as a tribute to her mother. She was an avid outdoorsperson, enjoyed gardening, hiking, animals and had won the Minnesota grand championship in archery. She will be fondly remembered by the many people whose lives she touched as a loving person that extended a hand of friendship to anyone in need. Although someone of many interests, her most special moments were those she spent being a wife, mom, grandma and sister. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Nancy Mottonen. Bea is survived by her husband, Bob, of Duluth; her son, Barry (Tara) Wain of Carlton; her daughter, Brenda (Kevin) Rodlund of Esko; five grandchildren, Haley and Ashley Wain and Amanda, Matt and Alyssa Rodlund; her brother, Albert Bernsdorf of Floodwood; a special mother-in-law, Grandma Betty Monson and many people whose lives she has touched. The family would like to express their greatful appreciation to Dr. Robert Niedringhaus and his nurse, Sherry, and the staff at SMDC for the wonderful and compassionate care and support they gave to Bea. Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 27,2003 in the Duluth Gospel Tabernacle, 1515 W. Superior Street. Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Duluth. Arrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet.
