Obituary of Henry Albert Isaacson

Henry Albert Isaacson, 87 of Cloquet, died Sunday, August 5, 2001 in Cloquet Community Memorial Nursing Home. He was born February 13, 1914 in Beaver Township to Oscar and Hilma (Natus) Isaacson. He was a painter in Chicago and it was there that he met and married Edith Laakso. They moved to Duluth in 1944 and then to Barnum in 1950 where he continued painting, carpentry and cabinet making. They retired and moved to Cloquet in 1976. He was a member of the Painters and Alloyed Trades Union Local 106. Henry enjoyed deer hunting and he played the accordion in a Finnish band playing for area dances. He is survived by his wife, Edith of Cloquet; two daughters, Janis (Michael) Saarela of Prior Lake and Joanne (Jim) Williamson of Bothell, Washington; a sister, Helen Larson of Moose Lake; 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Graveside services were held at 9:00 AM Thursday, August 9, 2001 at Riverside Cemetery in Barnum. Arrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St. in Cloquet.
