Obituary of Edward Edwin Seppala

Edward Edwin Seppala, 85 of Esko died Friday, March 12, 2004 at his home. He was born September 2, 1918 in Thomson Township to Sakrias and Anna (Tjader) Seppala. Edward worked for the D.M.& I.R. Railroad for 27 years, retiring in 1983. Edward farmed his entire life in Thomson Township. He also was a self employed logger. He loved fishing, dancing, and playing cards. He especially enjoyed playing cards with his wife, his friends at the Esko Senior Citizens and with Jan Mikelwright, his housekeeper. Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Aili on January 30, 1999, three sisters and five brothers. He is survived by his daughters, Bonnie Korpi of Esko and Nancy Seppala of San Diego, California; sons, Keith of Esko and Leon (Virginia) of St. Paul; grandchildren Riku, Taavi (Amanda) and Anna Korpi, Buena Fe and Aurora Lynn Seppala; great grandchildren, Noah and Milo Korpi. Edward is also survived by several nieces and nephews and his faithful companion, Trina. Visitation: 10 until the 11:00 a.m. memorial service Wednesday, March 17, 2004 in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Esko with Pastor Jeffrey Walther officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home in Cloquet.
