I graduated with Ben in 2002, although I didnt know Ben very well. I will always remember his gentle sense of humor. Growing up wouldnt have been the same without his great character. He is loved and missed by the many lucky people who were blessed with his wonderful presence. My thoughts and prayers are with his many friends and family members. God bless you all.

Bill and June - We didn't know Ben only thru Tom and Julie. We are so sorry for your loss. It brings back painful memories of when our little Lisa died from a skiing accident some years ago. We can only say that time has a way of making things easier but you never forget. Your faith in God and knowing that Ben is now in his Heavenly Home will somehow help. Our prayers go out to you during this most painful time. God Bless all of you. Sincerely and with love, Bob and Janet Wieczorek (Tom's mother and dad)

I didn't know Ben very well, but I was in French with him my junior year. He was always so funny and made all of us laugh and I am so sorry to hear of him passing. I know its hard because I lost my dad in October, but know he is in a better place and that things will get easier with time. Take care, you are in my thoughts.

Bill and June, our prayers are with you. Our Benjamin was one year old when we left Cloquet (he's now 10). Our Jennifer was also in the class of 2002.

Ben.........gentle Big Ben.... as I immediately nicknamed him when we first met. Just a little boy peeking through the pines, as his father was fast at work, chopping and sawing down trees, clearing the land for what soon would become the family's new homesite.
Cautious of me, he was...but as time moved on, we became more than just neighbors, we became good friends. We later moved away and like most, were greatly saddened when learning of his passing. We know that he is in good hands and knowing Ben, he more than likely is looking down or better said, "is peeking through the pines at me"!
To June & Bill, Emily, Peter and Tim....God's Peace. May our Lord in Heaven strengthen and comfort each of you during your time of sorrow.
Our sincerest love,
Rachel & Tom

I graduated with Ben last year. Ben and I had some great times camping out at Sucker Falls. Ben was a light-hearted man who deserved the best. The world is going to be different with one less harmonica.

I met Ben in 9th grade playing hockey up at the Esko rink, and from the first time I met him I knew we were going to be good friends. We went to his grandma's house in Pike Lake and went swimming all the time. We had fun together skating, swimming, going to concerts, and just hanging out for years. Ben was the funniest, kindest, and most lighthearted kid I ever met. I'm so sorry for your loss of a wonderful family member and I'm sorry that my good friend is gone. I hope Ben is at peace now, and I know I will never forget him. I'll miss you Ben

To Ben's parents and siblings, I loved your son and your brother. I only knew Ben for a little while, but in that short time he made a tough part of my life easier. With his witty sense of humor and brilliant energy he kept me smiling. I will never forget Ben Gerrard. May love eternal guide you all.

I am very sorry to hear about Ben. I am in the graduating class of 2003 here at Esko, and I have talked to Ben many times in school and other places, and he was always very nice and very funny. My mother, Nancy Shannon, took care of his great grandmother, Mable, for a couple years in pike lake, and she said that your family is so very nice. You are all in my prayers.
