Obituary of Nellie Lou Brigan

Nellie Lou Brigan, 76 of Mahtowa died Sunday, July 4, 2004 in Mercy Hospital in Moose Lake. She was born March 19, 1928 in Grundy Center, Iowa to Lee and Frances (Hummel) Wical. On July 18, 1946, Nellie married Raymond Brigan in Carlton and they made their home in Mahtowa. Nellie farmed with her husband for many years. She especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. Nellie was preceded in death by four brothers and a great granddaughter, Jessica Brigan. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ray; children, David Brigan of Mahtowa, Margaret Halverson of Detroit Lakes, Paul (Kristine) Brigan of Barnum, and Bonnie (Richard Pilarski) Gelo of Barnum; brother, Raymond "Skip" Wical of Iowa; sister, Platice (Harold) Davis of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Paula Naftali, Joshua and Tonya Gelo, Benjamin and Meghan Brigan; great grandchildren, Cody Brigan, Daniel Jurek Jr., Gillian and Cheyenne Naftali; and special friends, Jack Halverson and Dan Jurek. Memorial Services were held on Thursday, July 8, 2004 in Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St. in Cloquet. Inurnment was in Mount Salem Cemetery in Mahtowa.
