Obituary of Gina Caroline Switzer

Gina C. Switzer, 77 of Moose Lake died Tuesday, February 5, 2002 in Mercy Hospital in Moose Lake. She was born January 8, 1925 in Wrenshall to William and Randi (Dahl) Reed. Gina graduated from Wrenshall High School in 1944. She married Philip Switzer on June 20, 1944 in Barnum. They lived in Kettle River until 1967 at which time they moved to Moose Lake. Gina was a member of Oak Lake Church in Kerrick. She enjoyed quilting. Phil and Gina made many trips moving people and hauling furniture throughout the states. Gina was preceded in death by her husband Philip on October 30, 1996, her son, Randy on September 13, 1999 and a brother, Phil Reed. She is survived by two sons, Lynn (Sylvia) of Alpena, Michigan and Melvin (Donna) of Beaver Bay; four daughters, Phylis Filipiak and Nena (Mike) Bergerson both of Barnum, Lois (Frank) Klejeski of Kettle River, and Jana (Todd) Lallemont of Catawba, Wisconsin; six brothers, Frank Reed and Raymond (Irene) Reed both of Duluth, Floyd (Ruth) Reed of Carlton, Lloyd (Bernice) Reed of Cloquet, William (Barbara) Reed of Stevens Point, Wisconsin and Cliff (Deenie) Reed of Seattle, Washington; one sister, Clarice (Jim) Feigleson of Stevens Point; 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Friday and will continue from Noon until the 1:00 p.m. funeral service Saturday, February 9, 2002 in Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St. in Cloquet. Pastor Nathan Anderson will be officiating. Fellowship and lunch will follow in the Fireside Room of the funeral home. A spring burial will be in Blomskog Cemetery in Sturgeon Lake. Arrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet.
