Obituary of Charles Albert Arthur Huhta

Charles Huhta, 79 of Cloquet, formerly of Cromwell died peacefully onSaturday, December 28, 2002 in his home. He was born February 2, 1923 in Eagle Township to Edward and Saima (Markala) Huhta. He attended Eagle Lake School. Charles worked as a janitor and bus driver in addition to working at Conwed for 28 years before retiring in 1985. He was an Army Air Force Veteran serving during WWII. He had also worked in the CC Camps. Charles married Evelyn Snyder on July 30, 1955 in Duluth. He was a member of the Cloquet VFW and was a former member of the Eagle Lake Cemetery Board. He and his wife moved to Cloquet in July of this year. Charlie enjoyed reading, gardening and doing crossword puzzles. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Kenneth, John, Wayne, and Tony Huhta. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn of Cloquet; daughters, Jeanne (Doug) Wise of Sawyer, Sandra (Mike) Donahue of Maplewood, Darla (Chris) Skramstad of Barnum; sons, Greg (Jodell) of Anoka, Michael and Mark (Debbie) both of Cromwell; sisters, Dorothy (Howard) Saari of Esko, Bernice Makala of Duluth, Signe (Jim) Hill of El Cajon, Calif.; brother, Eugene (Shirley) Huhta of Cloquet; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A memorial service was held on Thursday, January 2, 2003 in Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St. in Cloquet. Military Honors were accorded by the Cloquet Combined Honor Guard. Inurnment was in Eagle Lake Cemetery.
