Obituary of Ronald A. Randa

Ronald "Panda Bear" A. Randa, 59 of Floodwood, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 6, 2004. He was born in Cloquet, MN on July 5, 1944 to Alex and Julia (Antol) Randa. He graduated from Floodwood High School in 1962. Ron enlisted in the Army in December 1962 serving three years in Hawaii. He married Susan Rautio on June 8, 1974 in Floodwood, MN. Ron worked for Bell Telephone, MP&L, Ulland Brothers Construction and several other jobs before starting his dream job of driving truck. He drove over the road for Halvor Lines before starting his own business, Four Seasons Forest Products, in 1981. He was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Wayne and Vienna Rautio; brother-in-law Ronald Rautio; and a foster brother, Ted Austin. He is survived by his wife Susie; son, Ryan of Cincinnati, OH and daughter and son-in-law, Lacey and Neil O'Connor of Madison, WI; aunts Helen McCormick, Priscilla Antol and Isabel Grant all of Minneapolis, MN, Elizabeth Kuklis of San Diego, CA; and uncle, James (Mary) Toth of Flint, MI; brothers-in-law, C.W. (Nancy) Rautio, Dan (Pat Ralidak) Rautio; and sister-in-law, Pat (George) Thompson all of Floodwood; many other friends and relatives and his best friend and constant companion, Cliff. Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 10, 2004 in Hope Lutheran Church in Floodwood. Burial was in Hope Lutheran Cemetery. Military Honors were accorded by the Cloquet Combined Honor Guard. Arrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet.
