Obituary of Arvid Wilfred Anderson

Arvid Wilfred Anderson, 89 of Wright died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001 in Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton. He was born July 5, 1912 in Waseca, Minn. to Alfred and Christine (Johnson) Anderson. He married Lillian Johnson on January 31, 1939 in Northwood, Iowa. He moved to Cromwell in 1950, where he farmed and also worked at Diamond Match. Arvid also worked at the feed store in Cromwell and for Pacific Northern Railroad. Since retiring in 1974, he had lived in Riverview Apartments in Floodwood and Southview Apartments in Cromwell before moving to Wright in 1989. Arvid was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Cromwell, the Young Old Timers and the Wright Senior Citizens. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and planting trees. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Floyd and Roy and his sisters, Ida Leslie, Dorothy Ziese and Alice Glenn. Arvid is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lillian of Wright; sons, Arvin (Bonnie), Eugene (Joey), and John (Rene) all of Wright and Anthony of Salmon, Idaho; daughters, Judy (David) Johnson of Barnum and Yvonne (William) Unkelhaeuser of Carlton; a sister, Marion Weimmers of Murphy, California; 22 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. Visitation was held Friday, September 28, 2001 in Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St. in Cloquet. Services were at 2 PM Saturday, September 29, 2001 in Bethany Lutheran Church in Cromell. Burial was in the Wright Public Cemetery. Arrrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet.
