Obituary of William Jack Anderson

William "Bill" Jack Anderson, 63, a lifelong resident of Brookston passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2004 peacefully at home, surrounded by his family after a gracious battle with cancer. Bill was born on January 15, 1941 in Cloquet to Hjalmer and Minnie (Severson) Anderson. He graduated from Brookston High School in 1959. Shortly after graduation he worked for Wood Conversion in Cloquet until 1963. Bill was an Army veteran serving from 1963 until 1965. On August 6, 1966 he married Juanita Peterson at Pike Lake. From 1965 until 1968, he worked for Minn-Tac, Brower Heating and U.S. Steel. Bill worked for Potlatch for 34 years, retiring in 2001. Bill and Nita enjoyed farming with their children and grandkids. Bill was an avid Twins, Timberwolves and Vikings fan. He enjoyed fishing - especially the river - hunting, trapping and a "few" beer breaks. Bill was a devoted husband, dad and grandpa. He especially enjoyed the quality time spent with his family and his bud, Wayno. Bill will be well remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor and his ability to lighten things up. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harry, George, Oscar and Gust Anderson; father-in-law, Edwin Peterson; and brothers-in-law, Jim Kuklis, Leo Johnson, John Birchall and Dean Fuller. Surviving Bill is his loving wife and best friend of 37 years, Juanita "Nita"; his adoring children, Suzette and Adam Janke, Rebecca Karppinen, and Kurt and Tina Anderson, all of Brookston. Papa will be lovingly remembered and missed by his grandchildren, Kolten, Kourtney, Kody and Krystal Karppinen, Drew, Lindsey and Joseph Janke, and Tyler Anderson; brother, Robert (Bev) Anderson of Cloquet; sisters, Myrtle Johnson of Duluth, Betty Kuklis of Cloquet, Mildred Birchall and Shirley Fuller both of California; numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by their dog, Annie. Although Bill is gone for now, he will continue to live on in our hearts and memories forever. C-U. Bill's family would like to thank St. Luke's Hospice Home Health Care for their kindness and support. Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 17, 2004 in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brookston.
