Obituary of Harry J. McKibbon

Harry J. McKibbon, 77 of Cloquet died Saturday, January 11, 2003 in his home. He was born April 3, 1925 in Thomson Township to Fred and Alexandra (Pellerin) McKibbon. Harry grew up in Cloquet and attended school in Carlton and Cloquet. He was an Army Veteran serving during WWII. Harry married Marion Gusinda on June 29, 1951 and they made their home in Cloquet. Harry worked at Potlatch until retiring in 1982. He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, the Potlatch Quarter Century Club and Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed fishing, picking berries, going out to eat and being around people. Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Marion on March 19, 2000; and five brothers, Andrew, Billy, Clarence, Walter, and Frederick. He is survived by two sisters, Helen Johnson of Cloquet and Esther Korby of Scanlon; two brothers, Robert McKibbon of San Antonio, Texas and Cromwell and Russell (Mariann) McKibbon of Barnum; a sister-in-law, Janet Gusinda of Oxnard, California; and his faithful companion, Jetty. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, January 16, 2003 in Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Cloquet. Burial was in New Calvary Cemetery, Cloquet. Military Honors will be accorded by the Cloquet Combined Honor Guard. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friends of Animals Humane Society or the American Heart Association.
