Obituary of Glenn Raymond Watson

Glenn Raymond Watson, 90, Moose Lake and formerly of Mahtowa, died Wednesday, September 24, 2003 in Mercy Hospital, Moose Lake. He was born March 6, 1913 in Barron, WI, the son of Charles and Nellie (Cooper) Watson. Glenn married Theresa Schmitz on September 3, 1936 in Superior. He worked as a shipfitter during WWII and then worked as a hydro-electric operator for Potlatch Corporation in Cloquet for 20 years, retiring in 1968. Following his retirement from Potlatch, he was a maintenance worker at the state hospital in Moose Lake. Glenn was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kim Marie Watson; a grandson, Troy Swing and nine brothers and sisters, Clyde Watson, Bessie Hill, Muriel "Eva" Deckwa, Juanita Kemp, Florence Rhoads, Jeanne Levin, Norma Levin, Lloyd Watson and Norm Watson. Glenn is survived by his wife, Theresa of Moose Lake; four sons, Richard (Claudette) of Bemidji, Thomas of Mahtowa, Darryll of Milton, FL and Michael (Mary Lisa) of Blaine; two daughters, Shirley (Donald) Magnuson of Moose Lake and Carolyn Watson of Taylor Falls, MN; one brother, John (Audrey) Watson of Sacramento, CA; 22 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, September 26, 2003 from 10:00 until the 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake. Interment will be in Mount Salem Cemetery, Mahtowa. If preferred, memorials may be made to Holy Angels Catholic Church. Arrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet.
