I moved from Cloquet in 1974 after working for Potlatch for 14 years.
During that time I worked with Mac while in Engineering and the Pulp Mill. I will always remember him as a sincere individual who had the utmost integrity and a pleasant smile at all times and always able to make people around him feel good.
I was very sorry to read of his passing in the Cloquet paper this week. He was a very fine individual.
Sincerely
Peter Boriin

We're sorry we couldn't be there in person. It seems appropriate that we use the internet to share our prayers and remembrances, as Uncle Arthur often shared his shaggy dog stories and other humor with us via e-mail. He deserves to the peace of a fine fishing hole, and comfort of the infinty of pie.

James Arthur "Mac" McMillan's parents and brothers called him Arthur, so did his nieces and nephews here in Rochester. It usually minimized confusion, but I answered a call from Aunt Alma once and took three tries to figure out that she wasn't asking if my brother (James) or Dad (also known as Mac) had headed home.
Uncle Arthur's trips between Esko and Rochester kept the Eastern and Northern divisions of Team Mac in touch. We grew up appreciating Arthur's sense of humor, particularly his love of puns and shaggy-dog stories, to say nothing of his enthusiasm for practical jokes.
When he acquired a computer, it opened up a whole new field of creativity in communication and graphic design. The tee-shirts were great fun, but the family e-mail list, which let us chat back and forth with relatives from Minnesota and Canada without running up huge long distance bills, was the best present of all.
250 words aren't nearly enough to convey our fondness for Uncle Arthur or our admiration for the courage and determination he displayed over the past nine years. We'll have to rely on those who can make the trip to share more of our memories of Uncle Arthur, but our prayers and sympathy are with Aunt Alma and all of Uncle Arthur's family and friends. We know that by whatever name you knew him, he will sorely missed. Our love and hugs to you all.
Beth McMillan (MacBeth) and Mark McMillan (Team Mark)

I will always be grateful to Uncle Arthur for the joke about Mahatma Ghandi being a super-calloused, fragile mystic, hexed by halitosis. It got me taken off the Religion professor's list serve when nothing else could. I very much regret that I cannot attend the services in person. I would have worn a basic black dress accessorized with an over-the-shoulder stick of pepperoni, as Arthur once suggested would complete my Italian widow ensemble. I have even forgiven Uncle Arthur for saying I looked just like Willie Nelson when I wore braids and a bandana. What will I do without my fashion advisor? Love and laughter always, Virginia
