Obituary of Philip J. Poirier

Philip J. Poirier, 96, a lifelong resident of Cloquet died Sunday, April 18, 2004. He was born in Cloquet on August 20, 1907 to Paul and Emile (Roy) Poirier. Philip worked as an electrician at Diamond Match in Cloquet and the Oil Refinery in Wrenshall. He was a member of the IBEW for 66 years. Philip was preceded in death by his wife Alice; daughter, Jean Breisch; two brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Joan (Robert) Nelson of Anoka; grandchildren, Jackie (John) Michlig and Scott Nelson; great grandchildren, Zoey and Benjamin Michlig. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 22, 2004 in Old Calvary Cemetery in Cloquet with Father Joseph Sirba officiating. A time of fellowship and lunch will follow at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Cloquet. Arrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St. in Cloquet.
